The 2026 Kentucky Derby: My picks
1st: 1 Danon Bourbon, ML 20-1
Winning his first 3 with little effort, Kentucky-bred Danon Bourbon, Japan’s first Derby Winner? I think so
2nd: 8 So Happy, ML 15-1
The Santa Anita Derby winner, with 2 time Kentucky Derby winning jockey Mike Smith aboard, should be close to the front the entire race.
3rd: 18 Further Ado 6-1
Earned a 106 Beyers, winning the G1 Blue Grass. Brad Cox Trained Horse by Gun Runner looks like a monster and would be a no-surprise winner here.
4th: 1 Renegade, ML 4-1.
Showing big improvement with almost every race should be flying in the stretch.
